Rinceau Scrolls Frieze

SKU FR15 · 5″ W × 3/4″ D

Hardwood Moulding · Cast Resin

Rinceau Scrolls frieze for below a crown or above a casing, cast in flexible resin in 5″ W × 3/4″ D. Ships unfinished, ready to paint or stain.

Flexible Resin · Interior & Exterior · Paint or Stain

Real wood, real grain, milled in long lengths — so a frieze run reads as one continuous piece instead of a row of splices.

Material & Dimensions

SKU Material Profile
FR15-RESIN Resin 5″ W × 3/4″ D

Resin ships unfinished and accepts paint or stain. Pattern repeats every 8-3/8″. Limited Red Oak profiles are stocked only in the Embossed and Traditional Collections.

How This Profile Is Made

Flexible Resin

The Resin option is cast from the original wood profile, so it carries the same detail and grain pattern and can be stained or painted. It flexes to follow radius walls and arched openings, compensates for framing that isn't true, and will not rot, swell, or deteriorate — rated for interior and exterior use, including bathrooms and sunrooms. The higher price reflects the specialized molding process and the material itself.

The Profile in Detail

Long Stock Lengths

Milled in lengths up to 16′, so most runs go up without a splice. Fewer joints, cleaner line, less filling.

Paint or Stain

Poplar takes paint cleanly and stains evenly. Ships unfinished so the finish is yours to choose.

Standard Tooling

Cuts, copes, and fastens like any hardwood trim. No special blades or adhesives.

Flexible Resin Option

Molded from the original wood model, so it carries the same grain and profile. The flexible resin bends to follow curved walls and out-of-plane framing, won't rot or swell, and is rated for interior and exterior use — bathrooms, sunrooms, and damp locations included.

Step by Step

1

Acclimate

Store flat in the room for 48–72 hours before cutting. Poplar milled to 6–8% moisture will move if installed straight off a truck.

2

Prime Before Install

If painting, prime all faces and cut ends first. Back-priming stops moisture from moving in behind the finish.

3

Cope Inside Corners

Cope rather than miter inside corners on wood. A coped joint stays tight through seasonal movement; a miter opens.

4

Fasten Into Framing

Nail or trim-screw into framing every 16″. Glue miters at outside corners.

5

Fill & Sand

Fill nail holes with wood filler, sand flush, and spot-prime before top-coating.

6

Finish

Two coats of trim enamel, or stain and clear-coat. Poplar takes gel stain particularly evenly.

Care & Handling

Keep bundles flat and supported until installed. Resin is rated for interior and exterior use. Dust with a dry cloth. Finished moulding can be wiped with a barely damp cloth.
